Six Sentence Sunday

So my short story Where Dreams are Grown has just been published in Issue 21 of Niteblade Magazine. I thought I’d share six sentences from that story with you. Anyone who’s interested can buy/read the issue here.

Old Man Somni stares at the horizon, lifting the sea-scavenged spyglass to his eye. Black sails whipped by the wind bring a ship towards the island. He has seen the sails before and the ice in the wind settles deep in his bones.

Erebus. A pirate ship manned by devils and captained by a man who hungers for nothing so much as the treasure of the dream pebbles littering the island shore. The gods have always kept the pirates at bay, out beyond the reef, but every year Morpheus grows bolder and more determined to reach the beach.
