Today I’m welcoming S.A. Larsen to Off the Page to share her top ten song inspirations for her new book Marked Beauty!
At times, MARKED BEAUTY has a dark, gothic edge that usually leads to some sort of inner searching for one of the characters. There’s lots of contemplation on past events and timid glances to the future fearful of what it might hold, so some of these songs are deep and emotional. My original playlist is much longer than the songs you’ll find below, but I tried to choose the ones that would give you a feel of the story and the characters’ struggles, and also a feel for what it was like for me to write the story. I’ve highlighted one line from each song to hint at what happens in the story.
