End of the World Blog Hop!

According to the Mayan Calendar, the world’s about to end. Again. So in the spirit of the apocalypse and I am a Reader, Not a Writer it seemed as good as time as any to get together and celebrate our imminent demise through books.

“It’s the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine” – R.E.M

Apocalyptic stories have always captivated our imagination, from the fire and brimstone of Revelations in the Bible to the horror of zombies munching on our brains, story tellers seem to come up with every increasing terrible ways for us to all meet our maker.

The world as we know it has ended for many already, from the day Mount Vesuvius engulfed Pompeii and the Black Death swept Europe to when Hurricane Katrina tore through New Orleans and the tsunami devastated Thailand. All these disasters ended the world for those affected, but thankfully none of these tragic events had an all encompassing global effect. Some theorise that the world will end with the Second Coming or when the Mayan Calendar runs out of days, that it might end when a large piece of space junk collides with Earth or when climate change finally ravages the planet with super storms. Others say it’ll end in fire when the sleeping super volcano under Yellowstone park finally wakes up from its millenia long nap. For Kyle Wolfe in my new YA science fiction novel, Obscura Burning, the world will end in fire too…

As part of this blog hop, I’m giving away an ebook version (epub, mobi or PDF) of Obscura Burning to one lucky winner. Enter below to stand the chance of winning and be sure to check out all the other participating blogs on this tour!
