What I Missed

Since I was moving last weekend and wasn’t able to get online, I decided that today’s blog post would be a catch up of the things I missed, and in the spirit of the ongoing Hop Against Homophobia, the contents will be LGBT themed.

Random Filler Art Day:

I first saw this fantastic photograph A0 size hanging on the kitchen wall of my friend’s apartment. He enthused over the composition of this photo as well as the subject material. Today, this photo can be seen all over the Internet and has since been replicated and emulated in a dozen ways for even more reasons. Still, this original image taken by the talented Tanya Chalkin pleases my eyes whenever I happen to gaze upon it.

“What is straight?  A line can be straight, or a street, but the human heart, oh, no, it’s curved like a road through mountains.”

Tennessee Williams, A Streetcar Named Desire, 1947

Of the many LGBT videos out there, this one by Icelandic shoe-gazing band, Sigur Ros, has also stuck with me. It’s subtle and yet profound and the music is both passionate and ethereal.

So that’s my weekly roundup.

What’s your favourite LGBT themed artwork, music video or quote?
